In this liberated environment, Manu enjoys the rush that comes with his newfound freedom, flaunting his sexuality and cruising city parks at all hours of the night in search of that perfect gay lover. Adrien (Michel Blanc), a lonely middle-aged doctor, develops a platonic relationship with Manu, taking the young man under his wing, and discovering for himself a renewed sense of vigor.Going on a vaction along the coast of France, Adrien introduces Manu to his married friends Mehdi and Sarah (Sami Bouajila and Emmanuelle Beart), a vice cop and a novelist who’ve just had their first child. Despite their seemingly carefree existence, Sarah is suffering from writer’s block on an all important novel meant to be a transition out of a dend-end career writing children’s book, while Mehdi, an Algerian, battles institutionalized racism by becoming even more the facist. As career and parenthood drive Sarah and Mehdi apart, Manu and Mehdi quickly become lovers, setting off an all-consuming love triangle in which friendships are tested, and the impact of AIDS will leave no one untouched.Directed by André Téchiné’s (Wild Reeds) this is a well acted and sexually explosive romp into the psyche of the heart.
