Until 1994, homosexuality was a criminal offense in the British military, and suspected offenders were vigorously and sometimes brutally pursued. After accepting a plum assignment as an investigator assigned to root out and interrogate suspected lesbians, Meagher comes to terms with her own sexuality, and eventually falls victim to the witch-hunt herself.
