Like all teens, Tru struggles to fit in. But when her lesbian moms decide to move the family to a conservative suburban town, Tru's life becomes complicated by sexual politics, closed minds and closeted friends.
When she starts hanging out with the school's handsome star quarterback Lodell, it causes a stir, even though Tru soon realizes Lodell is gay - and closeted. Tru agrees to help him "cover" - but then she meets Trevor, and must decide how to follow her heart.
